Whale Wars Trailer – Season 4

Generally, YouTube Funny Video Clips is all about funny videos. But sometimes we get into popular, serious, and amazing videos too. In the past we’ve posted a couple of clips from Whale Wars and were stunned to see the passionate responses. To date, our Whale Wars posts have more comments than almost all our other thousands of posts combined. WOW. There are definitely passionate people on both sides of the issue.

Below is the trailer for Season 4 of Whale Wars which launches on June 3. The crew once again has a state of the art ship named after “Godzilla” in order to “scare” the Japanese whalers. And word is that they did a good job this year at stopping whales from being hunted. Here’s the trailer:

Sea Shepherd Replaces Ady Gil with New Fast Ship

In just two months the Sea Shepherd will set off on a new adventure to stop Japanese whalers from killing whales in the Antarctica. We’ve featured a couple of past videos on the destruction of the Ady Gil: (Ady Gil Video 1, Ady Gil Video 2, Ady Gil Video 3). After the Ady Gil sunk in the last campaign, the Sea Shepherd staff sought to find a replacement. Today they announced that they had found a new ship. It’s quite a bit bigger than the Ady Gil, but still fast. It hasn’t been named yet, but until now it has been known as the Ocean Adventurer. Here is a YouTube video of it… The Whale Wars team will once again be tagging along to film a new year of Whale Wars. Last year, the captain of the Ady Gil, Peter Bethune, boarded a Japanese vessel (after the Ady Gil sank) and was arrested, spending five months in a Japanese prison. He has since had a major falling out with Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd team, so he will no longer be involved in anyway.

Sea Shepherd Ady Gil Sinks in Next Whale Wars Episode

(Ady Gil Sinks) On Friday, July 16, Animal Planet will air the episode of Whale Wars where the multi-million dollar Sea Shepherd Ady Gil boat is struck by a ship from the Japanese whaling fleet (Shonan Maru No. 2) and split in half. In early January, we showed you footage of the Ady Gil being struck from two angles (Sea Shepherd angle and Japanese whaling ship angle). In next week’s Whale Wars episode, the striking and sinking of the Ady Gil is dealt with and there will be new angles of the collision not yet shown online.

The Sea Shepherd Whale Wars story has generated quite the debate every time we make a post on the subject. For example, the Japanese view of the Ady Gil being struck post has 19 comments to date. You have those saying that the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is doing a good thing by trying to protect whales from Japanese whalers and you have another group who says the Sea Shepherd and its crew (Steve Irwin, Bob Barker, Ady Gil) and nothing more than eco terrorists and should be put in jail. Here are a couple of interesting YouTube videos that were put out at the time the Ady Gil was struck and sunk. The first is the view from the Ady Gil right up to just before the impact. The second is a montage of photos of the Ady Gil with the story of what happened.

Sea Shepherd View of Ady Gil Being Struck by Japanese Whaling Ship

(Amazing Videos) Our last video of the Sea Shepherd’s Ady Gil being struck by a Japanese Whaling Ship drew a lot of interest and several comments already.  After that video was put out, the Sea Shepherd released footage of the incident that was taken from the vantage point of the Bob Barker, one of the ships in the Sea Shepherd fleet that is fighting to save whales against Japanese whale hunters in the Antarctic.

The claim of the Sea Shepherd is that the Japanese Whaling ship purposely aimed at the Ady Gil, which was sitting still in the water. At the last second, the Ady Gil tries to throw their $2 million speedboat into reverse, but it is too late. The Ady Gil was struck and totaled (last word was it had sunk after the crew were rescued). The Sea Shepherd claimed that they put out a distress call, but the Japanese ship failed to acknowledge it initially. Later they did, but ignored the request for help. The battle between the Sea Shepherd and its three boat fleet (Steve Irwin, Bob Barker, and Ady Gil) is documented in the reality TV series, Whale Wars. There was a filming crew on both the Ady Gil and Bob Barker at the time of the incident. The Steve Irwin was not on scene during the incident. Sea Shepherd Ady Gil Struck and Sunk by Japanese Whaling Ship

(Amazing Video Clips) This is definitely not a funny video clip. If falls under the category of amazing and outrageous. If you’ve ever seen the show Whale Wars then you’re familiar with Paul Watson and his Sea Shepherd crew. Their goal is to stop Japanese whaling vessels from hunting whales in the Antarctica. This year they unveiled a new $2 million speed boat called the Ady Gil to help in their efforts. Unfortunately the Ady Gil didn’t last long.  Yesterday the Ady Gil, while sitting still in the water, was struck by a Japanese whaling ship, slicing of 10 feet of the front of the Ady Gil. This video, surprisingly enough provided by the Japanese whaling vessel, shows the Ady Gil not moving, then the Japanese boat turns into it. Six people had to be rescued from the boat, before it later sunk. Here’s the footage…
