(Cool Videos) This is a continuation of our Fun Theory videos. Volkswagen decided to start a new initiative where they make environmentally friendly things (like bottle deposits and throwing trash away) fun to see if more people would do it. They started with a healthy idea – the musical staircase. Then they did the video game bottle deposit. Now, in the video below, they are trying to make throwing trash away fun so that more people will do it instead of depositing their trash on the ground. They did it by making a “bottomless bin”. Fun Theory – Bottle Deposit Video Game
(Fun Theory) As we noted yesterday, The Fun Theory is an initiative by Volkswagen to make things that are healthy for us (or the environment) fun so that we will do more of it. With that in mind, a group was hired to make a bottle deposit machine that sounded like a video game and kept a score for people who put a glass bottle into the correct hole when a light above the hole turned on. The result was a lot more people recycling glass bottles as a result. Here’s the video…

Fun Theory – Musical Staircase
(Creative Videos) Volkswagen has started this new program called “the fun theory” where they explore new ways to get people to do things which are good for them or good for the environment. For example, it is noted that more people opt to take escalators than stairs even though stairs are much more healthy. So in Sweden, a team was hired to transform a staircase (next to an escalator) into a piano so that when people took a step, a note was triggered that would make a sound. The result was astounding. By making it fun, a ton more people took the stairs versus the escalator. Here’s the video…
