(Music Videos) In 1985, a super group of famous musicians and singers was assembled to help Africa by raising awareness with a song written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie called “We Are the World”. A small sampling of the music talent featured in the song includes: Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Kenny Rogers, James Ingram, Ray Charles, Huey Lewis, Diana Ross, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Dionne Warwick, Tina Turrner, Willie Nelson, Al Jarreau, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Perry, Kenny Loggins, Daryl Hall, Kim Carnes, and Cyndi Lauper. For the song, the musicians named themselves, “U.S.A. for Africa”.
